CAROUSELS

The carousel (vertical lathe) is used for machining large and heavy rotary workpieces, mainly their cylindrical, frontal and conical external and internal surfaces, in piecework, small series, but also in serial production. Among its functions are also turning of internal and external threads.

The use of vertical lathes can be expanded with the help of a grinding device, which enables grinding of frontal and cylindrical surfaces, both internal and external. Furthermore, it can also be expanded to include milling and boring equipment and, last but not least, also equipment for dimensional control of both the workpiece (semi-finished product) and the tool. Carousels are divided into single-stand carousels and double-stand carousels.
